A Regal Collection Inspired by The Crown: Season 2
To celebrate the release of acclaimed series The Crown: Season Two on DVD and Blu-Ray, we are thrilled to announce that we have created a limited edition collection that is fit for royalty. The Crown has been one of the most stylish shows on TV, so we jumped at the chance to curate a capsule collection inspired by the characters’ enviable wardrobes.
The Most Stylish Series on TV
The Crown: Season Two tells the inside story of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign, as the fragile social order established after the Second World War breaks apart. Beginning with soldiers in Her Majesty’s Armed Forces fighting an illegal war in Egypt, and ending with the downfall of her third Prime Minister, Harold Macmillan, after a devastating scandal, the second season bears witness to the end of the age of deference, and ushers in the revolutionary era of the 1960s.
Royal Customers
This partnership is the perfect opportunity to showcase our phenomenal heritage which has long been acclaimed by royalty, aristocracy and Hollywood’s elite. Specialising in luxury shirts and fine tailoring since 1913, Hawes & Curtis has been a favourite for royalty and the brand was awarded four Royal Warrants from The Duke of Windsor, King George VI and The Duke of Edinburgh.
Tailors to Queen Elizabeth II
In 1949, Hawes & Curtis was commissioned to make the khaki shirt and tie for HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Women’s Royal Army Corps (WRAC) uniform when she was a princess. From 1949 to 1953 Princess Elizabeth carried out her duties as an Honorary Brigadier in the Women’s Royal Army Corps (WRAC) before resigning these appointments on becoming Queen in 1953.
The Womenswear Collection
The womenswear collection draws inspiration from Her Majesty’s 1950s and 1960s wardrobe. It includes sumptuous satin blouses featuring lavish pussy bows. In luxurious royal blue and rich jewel tones, they salute this season’s ladylike aesthetic. The collection also features the brand’s signature women’s cotton shirts with distinctive high collars and sleek silhouettes. Elegant cufflinks complete the royal collection.
The Menswear Collection
The menswear collection is a reworking of traditional designs and elements into contemporary pieces. Exquisitely tailored suits, classic tweed blazers, knitted waistcoats and traditional Jermyn Street shirts are the hero pieces. Heritage print silk ties and accessories add the finishing touches to tailoring.
