Behind The Scenes: Winter’19 Campaign
We know you love a sneak peek behind the scenes of our seasonal photoshoots. And since we’ve launched our festive Winter’19 campaign, we thought you'd like to see what happened at our shoot! Our latest campaign was shot at St Martin’s Theatre in the West End. Here's an exclusive look behind the scenes.
The Location
The Winter’19 campaign was shot in the glorious St Martin’s Theatre which has staged the production of The Mousetrap since March 1974. The decadent setting was perfect to showcase our opulent occasion wear collection. We chose to shoot in the Royal Box, on stage and in the theatre bar, as these locations exuded drama with ornate gold mouldings, rich burgundy velvet curtains and dark wood panelling. The on-stage set has barely changed for more than 60 years and it has the air of a 1950s English country manor house.
The St Martin's Theatre, located in West Street, was designed by the architect W G R Spraque in 1916 for Lord Willoughby de Broke as a companion to the Ambassadors Theatre next door which had been built some three years earlier. It opened in the middle of World War One on Thursday 1916.
