As the original Jermyn Street shirtmaker since 1913, we are just as passionate about our shirts today as we were more than 100 years ago. Since the first store opened in the Piccadilly Arcade, Hawes & Curtis has been known throughout the world for its exquisite shirts thanks to their superb quality, attention to detail and exquisite craftsmanship.

 

The Iconic Windsor Collar

Hawes & Curtis developed the iconic Windsor collar, for the Duke of Windsor, which became an integral part of British fashion. Today it is one of the essentials of contemporary shirt design. Inspired by the classic British design popularised by the Duke of Windsor, the Windsor collar is nonchalant yet elegant. The collar points are angled outwards instead of pointing down and the collar is fashioned with a wide spread to accommodate a Windsor knot tie.
