Poplin’s Characteristics

Cotton poplin is the original formal shirt fabric. It is smooth and crisp in texture and its characteristic long staple yarns create a silky yet strong surface. It is tightly woven with fine yarns using a simple over and under weave pattern. Poplin is smoother than other weaves and is therefore more appropriate for formalwear.
